Further details: We are Guisborough U3A's middle distance walking group which, like the shorter groups, is proving popular with members. We don't take ourselves too seriously as nobody seems to mind the occasional diversion for tea or coffee and scones or even fish and chips. During summer months when days are longer we venture further afield, recently as far as Reeth in the Yorkshire Dales. In winter we choose routes closer to home and we are fortunate to have plenty of good walks on coast, moors and right on our doorstep here in Guisborough. Last winter with its weeks of snowy weather and icy roads proved challenging but we enjoyed days out in deep snow under wonderfully blue skies. Many of our members are very good at planning walks and although it is always pleasant to walk familiar paths it is quite a source of satisfaction to find new routes and explore different areas of our lovely countryside.
